Climate Bomb #3. This is one of my first attempts to do a mid-century modern drawing/painting; and my first attempt at using acrylic paint and canvas board. I also used whatever I had in the house: kids crayons, colored pencils, China markers and ink pen. I’m practicing the idea of under-painting and over-painting. Creating distinct shapes and areas that also cross into each other. I plan to do a dozen more climate bomb paintings because it’s something I believe in. My goal is to get a ‘Climate Bomb’ image into every home in North America.
I also just picked up a book on the COBRA art movement of Northern Europe (stands for Copenhagen, Brussels, Amsterdam). Also mid-century modern, similar to AbEx in the US. They were proponents of children’s drawings, outsider art. Common everyday art that’s not ‘special’.
NAGA is my art philosophy or ‘school’ that I made up for myself. ‘Wisdom from the depths’. Proximity to COBRA is not coincidental.
