Refuge Recovery Zoom/Levine
Editor: So the call just finished; and I’ll give you my general over-all impression as a participant.
(1) About 100 people showed up to the call; the general consensus was that Refuge Recovery is determined to go forward with becoming a totally peer-led, democratic organization run by the local groups.
(2) Noah Levine is not on the Board of Refuge Recovery at the moment, though he has a right to request being re-seated on the Board. The general consensus is that Refuge Recovery wants to remain independent of Noah and his concerns, and completely own the brand, the program and the literature.
One thing I learned from this call is that Jean Tuller, Exec. Dir. and Chris Cavanaugh, Acting Chair of the Board, are highly competent and dedicated people who are steering the organization through this very difficult time and setting the right course.
There’s not much more to say from my perspective as a participant, and I’ll defer to a summary of the meeting from Chris Cavanaugh and Jean Tuller that will be published later this week.
There is a second Zoom call that will be held on Thursday night, 7 PM Pacific time, 10 PM Eastern time.
