New Engage! Podcast Host: Acast

Hi Folks: Happy Winter way early!

I moved my podcast, Engage Dharma to a new podcast host, because Anchor FM got bought out by Spotify. My new podcast host is Acast. Here is the URL:

If you have any trouble with this, please let me know. Moving a podcast to another platform is tricky and your help means a lot.

I’ve also changed the masthead tag line to read: “Mental Liberation Front”. This theme was coined by the creative geniuses at Adbusters, led by founder and Zen Buddhist , Kalle Lasn. It is the name he’s given to his efforts to wake up humanity through his media and political work. It’s a theme that I share and want to actively promote and participate in through Engage! and its projects.

I’m going to be starting a new podcast series called “Applied Dharma Research”. I’m planning several articles and podcasts on the philosophy of Byung Chul Han. Han is a South Korean philosopher who has lived and taught in Germany since his early 20s, and taught both Western and Eastern philosophy. Still living in Berlin, Han is now a retired professor and continues to write lots of books on his philosophy and social critique (most of them mercifully short, less than 120 pages). Han’s philosophy fascinates me because in addition to being versed in western philosophy, he has an intuitive feel for Buddhist philosophy, and wrote a book on The Philosophy of Zen Buddhism. Moreover, his social critique is an insightful analysis of contemporary culture, and how one might deal with today’s culture from, as he says, a “contemplative” approach.

But all of this takes a lot of time, so please be patient. I hope to have the first podcasts ready in January.
