David Suzuki: Time to Talk Extinction

In this interview, Dr. David Suzuki, Canadian environmental scientist and educator, talks about the latest science of climate change. Suzuki makes the jaw-dropping statement based on a recent climate report that there is less than a 5% chance that planetary temperature rise will stay below 2º Celsius this century per the UN IPCC Paris Agreement. (Video minute 15:10 and again at 32:25). And we’re currently on a trajectory to hit over 4 degrees. Suzuki makes the case that we need to start facing the possibility of the extinction of the human species. Suzuki: “We’re at the 59th minute.”
