We Need a Disco Ball in the Shrine Room

Every time I walk into the shrine room at Nalanadabodhi Halifax (or think about it), I always say to myself, “The only way you’ll get me to pay $5 to walk in the door of this place is if you hang a spinning disco ball from the ceiling. Because the only place I ever pay $5 to walk in the door is at a gay bar, and they always have a spinning disco ball.”

Well, whada’ya know—Nalandawest has a spinning disco ball hanging from the ceiling. Khenpo Rinpoche calls it “the mirror of Samantabhadra”; the lights it casts he calls “bindus.” So how come we don’t have a spinning disco ball in our shrine room?  It would sure do a lot for the place. Shouldn’t all our shrine rooms have spinning disco balls? No, seriously.
